Product Description

ART MANEKI | TSUBAKI Yellow (Left) is an art object that merges a century of traditional craftsmanship with the contemporary expression of THE MANEKI.

While based on the traditional structure of the Maneki-neko (beckoning cat), it has been reconstructed as a study of the relationship between color and form, free from fixed meanings or roles.

Inherent Interpretation

In this piece, color is not used to convey happiness or vitality. Instead, it symbolizes the "moment of recognition"—the state in which an object's silhouette emerges. It does not represent a light that pierces the darkness, but rather the state in which something that was already there becomes visible.

TSUBAKI | Camellia

The camellia is a flower that possesses vibrant colors, yet its fundamental structure is profoundly serene. It is defined by the sharp contrast between its petals and leaves—a form stripped of all excess.

By overlaying Yellow onto the structural beauty of the camellia, this work positions the color not to make it "stand out," but to define its very "contour."
